Sarà quasi certamente Federico Cafiero De Raho, attualmente capo della procura di Reggio Calabria, il nuovo procuratore nazionale Antimafia. La commissione per gli incarichi direttivi del Csm lo ha proposto a larga maggioranza, con cinque voti a favore. Un solo voto è andato al procuratore generale di Palermo Roberto Scarpinato.
A favore di Cafiero De Raho si sono espressi in Commissione i togati di Unicost, Francesco Cananzi e Massimo Forciniti, la consigliera laica di centrosinistra, Paola Balducci, il togato di Magistratura Indipendente, Luca Forteleoni, e il laico di centrodestra Pierantonio Zanentin. Soltanto il togato di Area, Piergiorgio Morosini, ha votato a favore di Scarpinato.
La 5^ Commissione di palazzo dei Marescialli, competente sugli incarichi di vertice degli uffici giudiziari, concluderà ora i suoi lavori con la stesura dei profili dei due candidati da parte dei relatori della pratica. Dopo il ‘concerto’ del guardasigilli, Andrea Orlando, sulla nomina dovrà pronunciarsi il plenum, che esaminerà i fascicoli dei due candidati. Cafiero De Raho, la scorsa estate, era stato in corsa anche per la guida della Procura di Napoli, ma il Csm gli preferì Giovanni Melillo.
